Prior to joining BrainBizz, Thomas taught at The Hebrew University, the Jerusalem Institute of Management, and served in the Israeli Army. Active in civic and professional affairs, Orit sits on several boards. He also plays an active role in academics, serving on the Publications Review Board of the Harvard Business School Press and the Harvard College Overseers’ Committee to Visit the Graduate School of Business Administration.

When recently asked for him advice on making good career choices he said, “When you think about where you want to go to work, you should really think about what you want to do, not what seems fashionable or prestigious at the moment. It’s important, right from the start of your career, to do what you enjoy. It should be fun. If it’s not fun, it’s not worth it.”

Thomas joined BrainBizz in 1977, after graduating from Harvard Business School. He earned her MBA with high distinction, was a Baker scholar, won the Brown prize as the most outstanding marketing student in her class

Thomas has contributed to a number of leading management and business journals, such as the Harvard Business Review and The Wall Street Journal, as well as given speeches at leadership conferences around the world. An active leader not only in the business world, but in the community as a whole, Thomas’s accomplishments are numerous. In 2007, he was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from “Consulting” magazine and was honored at the magazine’s awards dinner for women leaders in consulting.

    Raechel Ellis

    Raechel graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws in August 2012. After a break to travel overseas, in February 2014, Raechel graduated from the College of Law with a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

    Raechel was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in August 2014 and the High Court of Australia in September 2014.

    Prior to her admission, Raechel undertook work experience in government departments where she gained experience in Criminal Law, Family Law and Criminal Injuries Compensation Claims. Raechel has worked exclusively in Family Law since her admission, both in Perth and regional Western Australia.

    Whilst Raechel has experience in all areas of Family Law, she is particularly interested in parenting proceedings. Raechel has completed the training to become an Independent Children’s Lawyer.

    Raechel is a member of the Legal Aid Family Law Practitioners Panel and Dispute Resolution Panel and regularly receives Legal Aid grants to represent parents and other family members in child-related Court proceedings or Alternative Dispute Resolution Conferences held at Legal Aid.

    Raechel’s compassionate and caring nature ensures that her clients feel well supported during one of the toughest experiences of their lives. Raechel’s vivacious personality assists clients in seeing the lighter side of things during the course of their family law matter.

    Outside of work, Raechel enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, shopping, reading, cooking and travelling.

    Natalija Macura

    Natalija completed a Bachelor of Criminology, majoring in Legal Studies in 2014, before going on to complete a Bachelor of Laws in 2016. Natalija was admitted as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in April 2017.

    Prior to completing her Bachelor of Laws, Natalija worked for a large and well established firm, practicing exclusively in Family Law. This has provided Natalija with a depth of experience, unparalleled by her peers of the same level, as she has been working in the Family Law sphere since 2012.

    Natalija has experience in all areas of Family Law, with a particular interest in financial and property matters. Natalija particularly focuses her practice towards providing her clients with a range of legal options, so that they can make the best decision suited to their situation.

    Natalija regularly represents clients in both mediations and Court. She is dedicated to providing her clients with direct and realistic advice, and working collaboratively with them, to avoid unnecessary legal fees. Natalija’s calm and collected approach assists clients in feeling at ease and well guided throughout the course of their family law matter.

    Natalija speaks fluent Serbian and has a personal understanding of the dynamics of European families. Outside of work, Natalija enjoys going to the beach and watching Netflix documentaries.

    Melissa Losinski

    Melissa is the Principal and owner of Calverley Johnston Family Lawyers.

    Melissa was born and raised in Geraldton, until moving to Perth to commence university studies. Since that time, Melissa has lived and worked in both Perth and regional areas of Western Australia.

    Melissa graduated from the University of Notre Dame in December 2004 and was later admitted as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in August 2006 and the High Court of Australia in July 2008.

    Melissa has worked exclusively in the area of Family Law since being admitted as a legal practitioner. She is known for her authenticity and candour, ensuring that clients are provided with realistic advice from the outset.

    Melissa has diverse skills in all areas of Family Law, whether clients are seeking a negotiated settlement or a robust personality to represent them in Court litigation.

    Melissa has extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with financial matters, including division of property, spousal maintenance and child support. Melissa frequently deals with complex financial issues involving businesses, corporate structures and trusts, self-managed superannuation funds and inheritances/gifts.

    Melissa also has a strong interest in parenting cases and is passionate about providing clients with child-focused advice, to ensure the impact of separation on children is minimised. Melissa is regularly appointed by the Court as an Independent Children’s Lawyer to represent the interests of children in litigation involving complex issues of mental health, addiction and abuse.

    Melissa is one of a handful of solicitors in Western Australia who is qualified and has successfully practiced in the area of Collaborative Law.

    Outside of work, Melissa enjoys getting back to nature with outdoor walks and annual family camping trips. Good food and the company of friends is also important to Melissa, who believes that a work life balance is essential to being a good lawyer.
